Route NH17 from Mumbai to Hathkhamba via Chiplun and Sangameshwar; SH204 to Ratnagiri

Getting there
By rail Ratnagiri Junction. Best option TO Konkan Kanya Express (dep: Mumbai CST 10.50 pm, Dadar 11.05 pm, Thane 11.30 pm; arr: Ratnagiri 5.41 am) Best option FROM Konkan Kanya Express (dep: Ratnagiri 10.20 pm; arr: Thane 4.58 am; Dadar 5.28 am, Mumbai CST 5.55 pm).

By car NH17 all the way to Hathkhamba Junction via Pen, Mahad and Chiplun. From Hathkhamba, Ratnagiri is just 13 km away on SH204, which connects Ratnagiri to Kolhapur.

En route halts Mangaon, the halfway mark, is a small dusty town with plenty of restaurants, including Hotel Open Umbrella. Just before Mahad is the clean and spacious Hotel Pride, good for a quick bite.

By bus Ordinary and semi-deluxe ST buses leave from opposite Mumbai Central, Borivli and Parel bus stations.
